Senior Finance & Payroll Officer

Location: Coombe Boys’ School (Some travel to other sites may be required)
An opportunity has arisen for a pro-active and experienced finance professional to join our busy, friendly team.
Coombe Academy Trust is an innovative and forward thinking Multi Academy Trust (MAT) providing standards of excellence in teaching and learning to give all our pupils a positive learning experience. The Trust has had two additional primary schools join in the last 15 months and now comprises two secondary and three primary schools. The central finance team, led by the Director of Finance, supports school based finance staff and assists the director in all aspects of financial planning and management.
We are looking for someone who is committed to continuous improvement, possesses good analytical skills, and can be a team player.
You will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in the maintenance of accurate payroll and financial records and the preparation of monthly management accounts. Main duties include preparing the monthly payroll for submission to our payroll provider; assisting the Finance Manager in providing monthly forecasts; overseeing the purchase ledger function; preparing control account reconciliations and processing month end adjustments.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, possess a good understanding of payroll, experience of using financial systems, be proficient in Excel, and have the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
