Welcome from the Headteacher

Mr D TanOn behalf of all the staff we would like to welcome you to our school website. It is designed to help you learn more about our school and is full of information that parents and carers will need to know.

We have the highest aspirations for all at Knollmead by being ambitious, inclusive and resilient and we strive for our children to be the same. We are very proud of the learning that takes place here, in particular achieving progress in the top 4% nationally for two years in a row in reading and maths at Key Stage 2 (FFT Aspire 2017 and 2018), and achieving progress in the top 1% nationally for reading, writing and maths at the 'higher standard' at Key Stage 2 (FFT Aspire 2018). This has been followed up with progress in the top 2 % nationally for writing at the 'higher standard' and progress and attainment in the top 1% nationally for maths at the 'higher standard' at Key Stage 2 (FFT Aspire 2019).

We are also very proud of our outstanding inclusive practice, as recognised during external reviews of our Specialist Resourced Provisions in February 2019 and March 2022, and Ofsted's recognition in October 2019 that the children's Behaviour and attitudes, the Early Years provision, and the Leadership and management of the school are all outstanding.

We would be delighted to meet with prospective parents who would like to learn more about our school; please contact the school office if you would like a tour. Any queries should be directed to Mrs Long or Mrs King. We hold open days in the autumn term for prospective parents seeking Reception places and will share the dates for these on this website.

As a primary school, we believe that young children learn best when they are stimulated by an exciting and challenging curriculum which motivates them to learn. We actively encourage children to be inquisitive about the world around them and we celebrate every child’s success on their learning journey as we prepare the children for a world of opportunity.

Our aim is to create a lifelong love of learning in every child.

Best Wishes

Mr David Tan,
Head Teacher
